Joshua M. Smith, a long-time resident of the Peoria area, has practiced throughout Central Illinois and the Chicago area. Mr. Smith focuses his practice on business transactions, corporate start-up, real estate matters, and civil litigation claims. Practices area include civil litigation for business litigation, commercial litigation, personal injury, insurance coverage, premises liability, property damage, construction defects, mechanic's liens, and landlord-tenant disputes.
Mr. Smith graduated, with honors, from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2003 with a B.S. in Finance. He received his Juris Doctorate from The John Marshall Law School in Chicago (now UIC Law) in 2006. He is licensed in the State of Illinois, the Central and Northern District Federal Courts of Illinois, and the Seventh Circuit Federal Court of Appeals. Mr. Smith has successfully taken cases to jury verdicts in both State and Federal Courts. Mr. Smith has represented clients in bench trials, examinations under oath, and arbitration (ADR).
Mr. Smith is a member of the Peoria County and Illinois Bar Associations. He has been involved in the community, serving on various local charitable boards. Mr. Smith is married with four young children.
